Desiree Burch aka Des
A critically acclaimed stand-up comic, writer, solo performer, devised theatre-maker and actor. Desiree has a BA in Theatre Studies from Yale University. She is the writer, creator and performer of five full-length original solo works for theatre and three stand-up hours, with shows like “52 Man Pickup”, “Tar Baby” and “Unf*ckable” enjoying international tours and widespread acclaim. “Tar Baby”, her interactive solo performance piece interrogating America’s relationship with race and capitolism, garnered her the Fringe First Award from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Having made a name for herself as one of the standout stars of the UK’s comedy scene since winning the Funny Women stage award in 2015, Desiree has been seen on “The Sandman”, “A Castle for Christmas”, “Live at the Apollo”, “Live at the BBC”, “Taskmaster” and “The Horne Scetion TV Show”. She is also the voice of Netflix’s #1 reality dating show “Too Hot To Handle”. Her voice has also contributed comedy and commentary to radio shows like “The Guilty Feminist”, “The News Quiz”, “Just a Minute”, “The Adam Buxton Podcast”, “Films To Be Buried With”, and the Amazon Limited Series “Escape: The Underground Railroad Podcast”.
